SEA Cuisine

It is no secret that I am a big fan of Vietnamese food, but it is a rarity for me to be able to get it. Where I live there just isn’t many places to eat, so I was overjoyed when I drove past a local elementary school and saw a food truck in the parking lot. Thank you SEA Cuisine for making your way out here! Your beef pho is amazing! Next time I see you out there, I will grab some banh mi for myself and the wife also.

Totally Rad Vintage Fest

We visited this odd-ball convention downtown in Covington. A good friend was in town and he rented space here for his business and gave us some free tickets. We made our way down after Tae Kwon Do testing in the afternoon and was surprised by what we saw. The actual show is a “vintage” fest of sorts, people buying and selling used clothing/toys etc. I am pretty sure I saw someone haggling over a shirt my mom bought for me from JC Penny in 1995. The asking price was $100.

I am not a fashion person although I do appreciate people who are into fashion. I think it is OK to be unique, to like things that you like simply because you like them. Who am I to judge? I personally do not take much care in the clothing I choose, although I admit I am trying to get better at it so I don’t look so plain all the time. I don’t forsee me wearing a granny sweater and pearl necklaces like some of the dudes I saw there, but I may swap in some more colors or something.

That was also my first visit to the Covington Convention Center. It wasn’t the largest space, but it was clean and modern inside. I believe they have two floors and perhaps some meetings rooms there. Parking was expensive and there isn’t much space down there to begin with, but we were able to find a spot. The coffee shop was good, I had a double espresso (and needed it) and the boys got their favorite – hot pretzels and cheese.

Broken Garage Door Spring

I swear this house is falling down around us. Evidently the garage door spring, I am not sure if it is because of the weather or something else. My neighbor owns a garage door repair business and he came down and looked at it. He said the spring they put in was too small, so he put in two new ones and the door opens again! You don’t realize how much you miss your garage door until you don’t have it anymore.
