Dutchman’s Fourth Of July Party

My fellow Dutchmen of course through another great Fourth of July Party. Every year they top themselves in the fireworks display with great food, lots of laughs, and of course ten thousand gallons of Busch Light. Again, proud to be a Dutchman and so glad I get to hang out with these guys. My family also enjoys it, especially my two sons who get to play on the slip and slide, the playground, and shoot off fireworks. The bonfire was retired though for this year, too many people were throwing their trash into the pile including fridges and couches. I would love to see that come back.

I brought my sister and nephew along to hang out and they had a good time too. I don’t come from a big family so it’s nice being at a party like this where so many people know each other and everyone is really kind.

New Nintendo Switch

I am the proud owner of a new Nintendo Switch. I chose the Zelda OLED version for the brighter, larger screen. I also bought a Zelda themed case and Zelda themed controller. Both are currently in my room on my personal television so I can grab a game whenever. We have two other Switches, the original the boys received for a present that’s pretty beat up now and a Switch Lite that I purchased for myself. I ended up giving that one to my younger son as I really struggled seeing the screen even with my glasses on. I am truly blessed, I reached middle age with very few injuries or diseases, most of my hair and teeth, but my vision really went downhill. I’m on my third prescription and curious if I should be going in for another refresh.

I am and will always be a Nintendo fan. It was my first console and I love the franchise and all of the characters. I will say too that my favorite video game, which is Nintendo’s Zelda – Ocarina of Time, is probably replaced by Breath of the Wild now. This game is so amazing. It is the first open world game I’ve played where you can truly go wherever you want. Most games for example that say they are open world aren’t, you’re kind of hemmed in by mountains that you can’t climb etc. but there is nothing holding you back from crawling over every inch of this world, which is by the way absolutely amazing and enormous. What a wonderful game!
