Visit to Cincinnati Zoo, Cincinnati Museum Center
We had a free weekend and I wanted to get out of the house. We had nothing planned so we went into Cincinnati with a visit to the Zoo in the morning, a lunch visit to Camp Washington Chili, and then a visit to the Cincinnati Museum Center. Something I should add is that Ted always gets asked to be in shows when we see things, it is uncanny. It occurred again while we were at the Wings of Wonder show. They asked if he wanted to be part of it and I am glad he said yes (like I would have let him pass). The show had birds fly through the crowd and land on people’s gloved hands, and he was able to catch an owl, which was super cool.
At the Cincinnati Museum Center I asked if I could just stay there and read everything that’s in the Neil Armstrong space exhibit. We’re at the point now where we do not need to be so super vigilant with our sons. When your children are young, and this really depends on the child, the chances you’ll be able to take your eyes off your kid are slim. I can tell you Ted is someone you need to stay on top of all the time. You blink and he’s gone. He will not pay attention to where he is at or who he is with, and within an instant he’s lost and crying because he doesn’t see anybody. That was when he was younger, he’s grown out of that now. Ben, on the hand, is someone who stays within a few steps. It doesn’t matter where you go, he will be there next to you.
At our last CMC visit, I realize I’ve never sat down and read everything in that museum. I wanted to read everything I could on Neil Armstrong and also pay attention to the other exhibits. I learned a lot. It was a good day.
