Cub-A-Roo Glow Party Weekend

Cub-A-Roo Glow Party Weekend

Cub-A-Roo Glow Party Weekend was a tremendous success! This is one of our crowning events, a Pack 808 only party. We had a great turnout! I was so glad to see all of these happy families coming together to enjoy the outdoors.

This year I expanded the agenda to include music instrument making for all scouts. The older scouts made kazoos by drilling a hole into a pipe and attaching wax paper to it. The younger scouts made drums out of cardboard concrete forms and tape. I was up all night buying this stuff and preparing it and I am glad it went off without a hitch. I am also glad though everyone pitched in and got camp going and everyone fed. It was a blast. I cannot do this without this great group of parents that are with me. We are really taking this whole thing to the next level and it is showing!

Some other things we enjoyed doing was allowing the Webelos to make desert using cast iron pots. The AOLS cooked and cleaned with help of the Outdoor Director. After making musical instruments we had a walk and parade that was funny. At night I did the campfire experience and we all told stories, sang sons and had a fun time. The Bears earned their Whittling Chip! It was such a busy 24 hours. And of course, we were joined by the coyotes who kept us up all night with their songs and prowling around.

Finally we woke up to some frost on the tents, which means we earned our Polar Bear badges for the evening! Great time!
