Life Sync

This page describes the methods I use to manage my life and remain on task to accomplish my goals.

  • Health
    • Weigh myself every morning before breakfast and log it
    • Check my blood pressure once a week and log it
    • Daily vitamins – Men’s One A Day and 3000 MG fish oil
    • Set goal of drinking 7 glasses of water a day
    • 60 minutes of strength training five days a week, broken down into themed workouts
      • Cable machines – flies, triceps, leg extensions, pull ups, standing calf, vertical chest
      • Heavy weights – bench press, high row, calf raise, decline bench, low row, squat
      • Cable machines – backhand fly, chest pullover, donkey kicks, pull downs, hip abduction, pectoral fly
      • Cleanup – bench press high, leg press, dips, abdominal, overhead press, leg curls
      • Super Sets – curls, lunges, squats, rows, flutter kicks, skull crushers, calf raises, shrugs
    • 30 minutes of walking at lunch
    • Meal tracking
      • Write down what I eat everyday and note if I ate it from a restaurant or carryout
      • Abstain from alcohol, nicotine, narcotics completely and totally
      • Abstain from fried foods, added sugar, packaged baked goods, and snack foods during the week.
        • One cheat meal on Saturday
    • Sleep tracking
      • Track CPAP hours used and log
    • Spirituality
      • Read three chapters from the Bible everyday
      • Attend Church on Sundays
      • Do a ten minute meditation
      • Write down one things I am happy for that day
    • Media consumption
      • 60 minutes on a streaming platform
      • App tracking and time limited on YouTube, Reddit, Facebook, and Apple News
  • Planning
    • Monthly
      • Write monthly goals to accomplish – learning, home/admin, projects/passion, friends, fun things, health goals
      • Meld calendars for different organizations and children’s activities and fun things to do
      • Log any memories, things I can do better, learning, gratuity, affirmations during/end of month
      • Update electronic calendar so Leslie knows what we have going on
    • Weekly
      • Jot down any ideas or focuses I want for the week
      • Note anything I do not want to do during the week
      • Plan 7 daily habits I want to accomplish
      • Note any purchases that are necessary
      • Make lists for learning goals in tech, lessons
      • Make lists for boy’s activities, any friends I want to contact, project work, financial tasks, admin tasks
      • Write blog post on JoshuaRust.com
    • Daily
      • Write down five things I want to focus on during the day and five things at night
      • Block off any time for focused work or appointments and meetings
      • Morning day planning and reflection prompt answering from app
      • Mark off the completions of my 7 daily habits
