Cincinnati Zoo, Kings Island, Dope!
Cincinnati Zoo
I am rounding out my week of vacation, and although we did not go anywhere, and one son is away at camp, I did find a way to enjoy myself. Ben did not want to accompany me to the Cincinnati Zoo, so I decided to go by myself. I have never been to the Zoo during the work week and would like to experience it when it is not busy. I was in for a treat because much of the animals were incredibly active when I arrived. The heat had not kicked in for the day and they were happy to be seeing people. I know that sounds odd, but zoo animals seem to like to see people. They get use to them, but too many people is overstimulation and they will choose to hide/ignore people. There seems to be just a right amount and that seemed to be that day.
I had a wonderful encounter with one of the hippos, who swam up the window and looked me in the eye for what felt like five minutes. It was very odd. A cheetah also checked me out, perhaps she thought I was odd because I had my binoculars out. I made a few rounds and went home, seeing every creature I wanted to see. It was a very pleasant day.
Kings Island
Ted came home from camp so we went up to Kings Island to enjoy our season pass for a day with Ben in tow. The boys rode a lot of different things as the heat kept most people at the water park. These park passes are the best value honestly, with Kings Island just 35 minutes up the road it makes complete sense to get them. I hope next year when I am out of school I can come up more often to enjoy it.
Dope!
There is a local restaurant that is on the way to my sister-in-law’s house that has very good ramen called Dope!, Asian Street Fare. We will try this place again very soon, hopefully. I enjoyed my ramen for sure. Because of where we live, without many interesting restaurants around, it is always a treat when we can try someplace new.
