MBA 611 – MBA Capstone – Weeks 1 – 5

MBA 611 – MBA Capstone – Weeks 1 – 5

I am also going to group this course into one post instead of a post breaking down each individual week. As a capstone course, the main focus here was to summarize the previous core MBA classes I took. Compared to the previous MBA Comprehensive review, this one had a little more value to it. The majority of the assignments were written assignments and discussions along with a group project. We were challenged a lot in the writings to use data, so research was key. The group assignment went well, although I found myself being the one who needed to prod my fellow students for submissions and to up their output. Luckily we landed an A on the paper.

Overall I finished my core MBA classes with all As, which I am proud of, because I worked full time as well. Many people wonder how I did it, but if you just manage your time well you can accomplish it. Of course, it meant giving up a lot of weekends and ancillary enjoyment like streaming or playing video games. I was also not able to take much time off, and the weekends I did not have school work were spent catching up on house projects. However, I am glad to be wrapping up and looking at my stacks.

I have to decide on my stack courses next, and I think I am going to double up so I can finish early. I am going to focus on Project Management and Leadership, as opposed to Business Intelligence, which was my original intent, just because that is what I am currently doing. I also think if I were to do more Business Intelligence in the future, a few high demand certifications would go a little further and be cheaper to attain, so I am going to focus my financial resources on more qualitative subjects.
