MBA Milestone

MBA Milestone

I am officially done with my core MBA classes and getting ready to start my Capstone courses. I have no idea what that means. The two courses themselves will be back to back this summer. They are taught by two professors I’ve had in the past so I know what to expect from them.

This fall I will start my “stack” classes, and honestly I am not sure what I want to do. Stack classes are like a major for an undergrad, or a focus of study. It is not something that prints on your diploma though, so what you do is really about the specific skills you want to develop. I originally came to this program specifically for the data analytics stack. I am not sure if that is going to remain the case, it seems that field is completely flooded with people who are getting into it not because they are good at it, but because of the compensation. I have specific experience and success in that field but with AI and the influx of people I am not sure there is room in it for me. Some other options might be project management or leadership, which is what I am doing now. I have also thought about sales, that is my weakest business skill right now and it might not hurt to learn more about it.

Regardless of what happens I am relieved to be more than half done with this endeavor. Working throughout the week and through the weekend has been tiring. Plus, I miss being around other people and attending events with them.
