MGT 607 – Strategies for High Performing Orgs – Week 5
Week 5 – Industry Dynamics and Firm Innovation
We finish up the final week with a bit of a busy schedule. We are expected to both finish up a traditional fifth week of work and a final week that includes a consultant type slide deck for Wendy’s, which is currently undergoing financial difficulty. Our readings include “Why Good Companies Go Bad” by Sull, Kotter’s “Leading Change, Why Transformation Efforts Fail” and O’Reilly’s “The Ambidextrous Organization.” We learned about the TOWS matrix, the SCR Framework for creating quality slides, and the Pyramid Principle. I did not realize there was a process to creating a good slide deck. I will try to adopt this in the future.
This was a busy week, and I had to take off Friday to get all of my work done. I did well in the class, keeping up my streak of As.
