Key Learnings
Jira is customizable, workflow oriented, with many plugins for the ecosystem. It does not do cost tracking and is not designed for the waterfall method. Jira is built around work items, which can be linked to each other to create dependency management. Jira is highly customizable, but it is recommended to use the standard setup, otherwise management of the platform gets convoluted. The more complex it gets the more you will need resources dedicated to managing it.
Jira should be part of the retrospective and the standup. Complex workflows can be mirrored in Jira and can utilize approvals, conditions, validators, post functions, triggers, and properties. Integrations include mailbox, development (what it is known for most), and identity/access management.
