Christmas 2025

We had a wonderful Christmas this year. We did our normal tradition of being home on Christmas Eve and Christmas Morning, and over to my in-laws for Christmas Dinner. My immediate family came over the Friday after for brunch. All around the food was very good. Both boys did well. We decided to go with a few nicer gifts than a lot of smaller gifts, one received an electric scooter and the other a Switch 2. We also spent some time this week cleaning the house up, especially moving items out of the boys room and into the basement because it was getting a little cluttered in there. We did not make Christmas service though, and opted to watch it on YouTube, which was nice.

Fleming County Archery Tournament

We traveled away to Flemingsburg KY for an archery tournament. Neither of us honestly have been to many places in rural Kentucky, so we chose this because it was part of the state we’ve not been too much. It’s just south of Maysville, which I’ve only been to a few times previously. Both boys did very well, but then again they shoot equipment that is not popular at the club level so there was not much competition (they shoot the standard Genesis bows used in school competitions). Ted did tell us he wants to step up next year to a compound bow, so we will most likely shoot the remainder of the season using that bow and upgrade next year.

Caproni’s Italian Restaurant

Since we were down that way, we wanted to have a nice dinner. Caproni’s was in Maysville, KY. The food, music, and atmosphere was very good. It is a classic Italian restaurant with a jazz ensemble. The boys were hungry and they woofed down their orders. We will stop here again in the future if we are in town. This really looks like the date place there in Mason County, which lots of nice couples and groups around celebrating a holiday dinner. Surprisingly they were not that busy for a Saturday night, but then again it was Christmas break and cold outside. I should also add the bill was pretty reasonable and not much more than what we would spend in other sit down restaurants. We did get to sit along the wall with the signed plates, right behind George Clooney’s and Travis Tritt’s. Leslie is a big fan of the Clooneys, specifically Rose Mary, so we will most likely come back in the future to see her museum in town.
