Basketball Season, Independence Christmas Walk, Promotion
Basketball Season Continues
Ben is continuing his basketball season. He plays so hard. I really wish we had a basketball goal at the house for him to play on. The driveway is too steep for it, maybe I can just put one in the side yard. Anything is better than nothing. We did work on dribbling before his game and that seemed to help. I am trying to run him through drills at NKU on Sunday to get his skills up. He plays great defense. I think he just needs some work on how to play the game and get shots off faster.
Independence Christmas Walk
Ted’s Troop volunteered to man the fire barrels at Independence’s Christmas Walk. In all the years we’ve lived out here, we’ve never attended. The city hosts a parade that goes from the courthouse down to the shopping center, and you can walk between the two. It was a nice night, although it could use a little work. I am surprised how many people who live upon the route do not put up Christmas lights. I’ll admit, I did not have time to put up lights, but I also live off of the main road. Perhaps the city could encourage more to take part. They also need some additional street lighting, it was pretty dark outside.
Promotion
I received a promotion at work and I appreciate the opportunity. I am also managing my first week in the role and taking my final for my finance class. I will write more upon what I am doing, there is a lot of work that needs to be done. It will be odd transitioning out of my individual contributor role because I was safe and successful in it and move over into leadership. I do feel I’ve put in the time and effort into being successful in the role. There are high expectations with it and I plan on being bold and effective.
