Kings Island Haunt, Ohio RenFest
Kings Island Haunt
It is my shoulder weekend, which means I have an entire weekend without classwork. Friday night Ted and I went to Kings Island. We had the entire place to ourselves. It was a perfect day to go. Friday nights are usually slow, but couple that with the threat of rain that doesn’t materialize and the crowds will not be an issue. Eventually they did show up when it was clear skies, but we already hit all of the new mazes.
We enjoyed the new Jason themed maze (Friday the 13th) that took the replace of Hotel St. Michelle. We also hit a few rides. I was happy to see that I could fit on the Beast again and I enjoyed that ride tremendously. Ted did not make it to the night ride though, he was too tired. I even tried to get him a cheese coney to get him some energy but he was too tired. I can’t blame him, he had school that day. Great evening together.

Ted and I also went to RenFair together. Leslie and Ben chose to go to Woolfest in Falmouth instead. No worries, we had fun. We went to a few shows and had some tasty food. We checked out a few stores also. I enjoy my time here, although Ted isn’t much of a fan. I may be the only one who likes RenFest at some point in the future. I hope it doesn’t come to that, I look forward to it every year, although I admit, overall it’s more about the people watching for me than anything else.
One thing I noticed about the the grounds at ORF is a refresh. Some of the buildings have been renovated with some additional artwork. There is also a few water features and parks on the back end of the property. These were nice touches and it is encouraging to see some investment in such a wonderful place.
