FIN 605 – Financial Management in Organizations – Week 5

Week 5 – Capital Budgeting and Cash Flow Analysis

Our last week of class and the professor kindly is allowing us to finish the weekend with our exams. Usually we have until Friday of the fifth week and it makes it very difficult, but thankfully two extra days means I can catch up on Saturday. I really appreciated that this week because it is also the start of a new job and I spent quite a few late nights working.

Of all weeks though I wish we could do more on this subject. I worked as a budgeting analyst and did a lot of work in this field, although I kind of did it at a higher level than what we discussed here as we never took required rates or return. I also know never to use the Internal Rate of Return or Break-Even analysis again. The professor pretty much cracked those two things in half as being completely ineffective.
