BUS 605 – Legal Environment for Business – Week 1

Week 1 – Introduction to the Legal System

First week of any course always starts off with trying to get your hands around what the expectations are and how to cope with it and working full time. This class looks like it is shaping up to require a lot of reading. I also bought the book using the Cengage app, and this app totally sucks. You cannot copy out notes from it to a word document, which is what I like to do with Yuzu. Instead, you have to type it as you read it, which slows me down a little bit. This week we looked at the Constitution and how it affects business law, then we looked at the limitations of international law. There is a discussion board question about our thoughts about some kind of international law system. I am against it, I do not think one is enforceable, and I don’t think the world could ever come to terms with what is fair and what is not fair. There is also the possibility of the system being used to punish their adversaries. Beyond that there is a lecture, which I appreciate, because I think these are important. The professor is a semi-retired judge so I want to hear her perspective.
