Labor Day Weekend, Bin Move In, Fantastic Four
Labor Day Weekend
I did not enjoy this Labor Day Weekend that much. I spent two days working on school assignments and I ended up working Labor Day itself just to catch up at work to get ready for a big project. Sometimes though I do this just because I know not having the stress of being behind in the upcoming week is worth it. I did try to get out of the house a little bit with the boys and enjoy the nice weather. We did get a hike in together at the local park which was nice and a failed start at Kings Island that I mention below. We’ve had a spat of really cool weather so there’s not been a lot of interest in the pools here, although by all means it would be world class camping weather. The family did go to Silverlake but didn’t get in the pool much. We did not make our final visit to our community pool to bid farewell.
Bin Move In
We moved some additional stuff into the bin although there is a lot to go. We started with the heavier machines and got those into the bin, so now I have room in the garage to move some stuff around. I still have all of our camp stuff out that needs to get put away, and that will go into the old spot that had the lawn machinery in it. Next will be to move the rest of the stuff into the bin, like the lawn tools and lawn chemicals. This is such an important first step to start the work on the interior house. Doing a renovation with furniture and storage issues is just one huge puzzle.
Fantastic Four
Our original plan was to go to Kings Island but the park was absolutely packed. We’ve come here on previous Labor Day weekends and it is usually fairly empty because most everyone goes to Riverfest. It was so bad we actually left because everything had a line to it, and everyone was hungry. The boys of course were not happy but we left and went to Skyline, which softened their moods up. Then we went and saw the Fantastic Four at a local movie theater, and that was a fun movie. That kind of chilled them out a bit. I love Kings Island but sixty minute waits for the least popular ride made no sense. The move was fun, and they introduce Doctor Doom at the end of it, which is one of my favorite Marvel villains.
Also, I really liked that movie theater. The theater where we live is one of the smaller ones, this was a full size Regal. They had their Regal PRX theater, which I want to check out some time. This is a larger screen with better sound. They had a full size snack bar there, including pizza and Cheetos popcorn. There was also some Indian food available, and evidently they show Bollywood movies there. I remember when I worked in this area there were many Indians who lived in the area who worked at the Proctor and Gamble technology center there. I would like to come back here again. I am a movie buff and I like the movie going experience, it is fun to see what is up in this area as it’s more populated and a little more affluent than the area that I live in.
