Smoked Chicken Wings

I haven’t smoked chicken wings in awhile. These were really tasty. I tried applying barbecue sauce while they were on the grates. Because there is so much sodium in readily made sauce I did not apply any additional cooking salt, however next time I will spring some on during the original smoking process because it does add more flavor. My usual sauce is one part Baby Ray’s and one part Montgomery Inn. Perhaps I will try making my own sauce in the future.

Starlite Drive In

I love the drive in, it is my absolute favorite way to watch a movie. Amelia’s Starlite is a great drive in theater. The food is good, the crowds are usually pretty chill, and it isn’t so far out that we can get there fairly easily. I used to really like Hamilton’s Holiday Auto Theater but it is much further away for us now. The only downside is if your neighbor is a smoker, then you have to put up with that because you are outside, but most people these days are much more polite about their smoking. We saw the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle movie. We enjoyed that and it is a slightly different take on the TMNT theme.

Our setup is really complete for this type of experience. I suggest folding chairs, a folding table, your own audio (speaker with FM), and flashlights. Typically it is too hot to be in the back of the car but the boys like to be there when it gets darker. We used to keep foam pads for them but those are long gone also.

New Chair

I am done purchasing crappy office chairs. I’ve now thrown away two other chairs since working from home and that adds up. Not only were they uncomfortable, but they started crapping out on me over a long period of time. It is really frustrating to have the piston on one of these fail and suddenly you drop a half inch with no warning. Plus, when you add up the cost of buying two cheap chairs you get to the point that you should’ve probably bought one nice chair and done away with the nuisance. Like has been said before, “buy nice or buy twice.”

It was recommended to me to try a chair from Secret Labs as they are incredibly comfortable. I chose the Batman chair, because well, I like Batman. There were dozens of other types of chair designs to choose from although the chassis for the most part is the same. I liked this because I didn’t want to feature shop, I just want a good chair. The chair arrived in a beautiful package and was easy to assemble. The same friend also gave me some roller blade type wheels for it which enabled me to pitch the broken plastic mat I had on my carpet. Thus far the chair has been incredibly comfortable and I’ve been able to sit longer in it throughout the day. I really like this thing. Also, evidently gaming chairs is really popular with the youth and I’ve received complements on it as well.
