PC Build Complete
My new gaming rig “GigaHorse” is finally complete. I’ve wanted to build my own gaming PC for years! Here are a few things I picked up doing it.
- Assembling the PC was literally just clicking parts together. If you aren’t sure what to do you can easily find videos on YouTube explaining it.
- You can find multiple resources on picking parts, I utilized Logical Increments for my build.
- I thought the most intimidating aspect was applying the heat sink. This was actually incredibly easy. I just watched a few videos on it and did it.
- Wow, cryptocurrencies are making it really hard to find parts. Glad I built this when I did!
- The SSD is awesome. Go with the M.2. Blazing fast.
- Bluetooth only works with a WiFi card. Didn’t figure that out until later. Since I planned on live wiring it, I had to buy one so I could connect controllers to it.
- I skipped the entire RGB works inside. I don’t have a lot of confidence in my wiring. I don’t really feel like I’m missing out by not having flashing lights everywhere.
- The fans on the case are quiet enough. I didn’t feel like I needed to upgrade those at all.
- I had so many games to install I had to add a second TB SSD. The HDD 4TB is blazing fast as well and used for deep storage. I back that all up to a NAS.
- If you’re on the fence building a PC or buying a console, go with the PC. It is worth it!

Here are parts I used to complete it.
