Spring Is In The Air

Spring is in the air, and not too soon. I am a fan of the four seasons for sure, and I don’t really like them to change until I am fed up with the previous one. Like, I want to be tired of being hot before winter starts, and tired of being cold before summer hits. Although I’d love to live in a warmer environment overall, I’d miss autumn (my favorite season) and snow (although that’s not a common occurrence anymore). Truth be told, I am fed up with this winter and the never ending gray skies and temperatures in the forties. Bring on Spring!

Here is a picture from Mount Adams, directly above where I park every morning. I currently work in this neighborhood and I can vouch that it is one of the more attractive ones in Cincinnati. I’ve taken a lot of walks through here and over into Eden Park, so much that I’m starting to recognize people and develop informal relationships with them. I do notice is a lot of renovation in the area and many of these homes are coming to market. Although it’s definitely grayed up here in terms of population aging, none so more evident than when the local neighborhood association voted to take actions in dampening the night life in the bar district, I am seeing a lot of younger couples with dogs wondering around probably looking for affordable housing (good luck up here). It’s a sleepy little neighborhood now but we’re not too far off from it being as vibrant as it was twenty years ago when I used to come up here and hang out.

I honestly don’t think we’re far off from having this neighborhood back in the “hot places to live” conversation for Cincinnati as it starts turning over in terms of demographics.
