Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas

We are having a terrific Christmas break. I have the entire holiday week off to spend with the family. We do not have much planned other than a trip to the Air Force Museum in Dayton, OH. I’ve also decided after December 25th we’re out of Christmas mode. I feel like the season started early this year and although I am not Grinch or Scrooge, I kind of need a break from the Christmas food, music, and movies. Typically we spend the holiday week going to the Cincinnati Museum Center for Holiday Trains, Kings Island for Winterfest, the Cincinnati Zoo for Festival of Lights, Coney Island for their lights, and some other things. We’ve already done those things anyway so I’m not interested in a second visit. I am holidayed out. I will most likely spend this week catching up on blogging (which I did and wrote like a dozen posts), Cub Scout finances (we’re behind an entire quarter), and cleaning/organizing the house. We did decide on purchasing a storage bin for the backyard and some hanging storage options for the garage so that we can get started remodeling the house.

The boys received some nice gifts. We purchased a drum set for Ben and he’s been playing music with Ted on the violin and Leslie on the piano. I even whipped out the harmonica and pretended like I knew what I was doing. They were so encouraging it was really cute. Ted received a compound bow that he can use for his archery practice. We will also get to spend some time together at the club putting some arrows through a target together. Time is really the best thing to give.

I also spent some time planning for next year. I have a laundry list of 2024 Resolutions about things I want to do better. I think I’ll create a notebook page for it so I can track it for next year. Right now my list is up to seven.
